Our First Ride of 2017!
It’s January in Texas, that means you can never really know what to expect for weather. Scott and I have been watching Wunderground with great interest all week in hopes of getting out on the motorcycles for a ride. Then, there it was, 75 for the high! Of course, it was a Friday and normally that means he’ll be working. As the week drew to an end Scott ended up with a short day on Friday!
I spent Thursday and early Friday morning clearing my schedule and getting all my work done. I kept a close watch on my phone for the text saying he was on his way home. I made sure I was geared up and ready as soon as he got home!
Destination
We headed out around 1:00. I had no idea what he had planned but it didn’t matter. We’d be on the road together on a beautiful day! Once we got past Godly and were at a stop sign Scott gave me two options, of course, I took the longer one!
We took some back roads out To Cranfills gap to Horny Toad Bar & Grill for lunch. When we arrived there was only one other person there and he was finishing up. That meant we had the entire place to ourselves, that’s a first. The service and food was fantastic as always. If you get a chance to try the taco salad it’s my favorite!
Since it was still warm we took a semi-long way home. We did opt to take the Chisolm Trail Toll road once we got into Cleburne to avoid the congestion. Although we spent a couple buck each bike it was worth it. We had very little traffic and no stop signs or red lights. Not to mention irritated cagers on their way home from work ;).
Round trip we road 186.4 miles.
