This is my first textile riding jacket and I have to say I really do like it! I’ve always either worn leather when it’s really, really cold or a hoodie when it’s cold but not cold enough for my leather jacket. I’ve been looking for something else whenever Scott and I went to events or gear shops. I never could find a jacket that fit right and moved comfortably with me. I was reluctant to buy online because you can’t try it on. After being so pleased with the customer service I received from Viking when buying the saddle bags I decided to go ahead and try their sister site Viking Cycles for a jacket. I am so glad I did!
Safety First
First, let’s talk about safety! This jacket has C.E. approved armor. The elbow, shoulder and spine armor are removable and have passed the highest impact tests available. Reflective stripes mean you’ll be seen by other motorists keeping you safe even on the darkest of nights.
Adjustable Fit
I’m only 5’1″, weigh 118 and I’m not flat chested so fit has always been an issue when buying gear. Not with the Ironborn Motorcycle Jacket. The Ironborn jacket has been designed with a 6-point Sure Fit custom adjustment system. Therefore, it allows the rider to truly adjust the fit in 6 key places making for comfortable riding. Motorcycle apparel should have a close, snug fit. In order to properly protect you, the jacket must fit snug enough so that it’s armor will stay in place.
Stay Dry
Viking Cycle’s Ironborn Women’s Motorcycle Textile Jacket is waterproof treated Rock Tex 600 Outer Shell and easy grip zippers. That means when we get caught out in the rain I’ll stay dry!
Year-Round Comfort With Vents and Zip-Out Liner
This jacket has a removable insulated full-sleeve liner. This will allow me to stay warm even when it’s not cold enough for my winter leather jacket. The liner zipped in and out easily.
The Viking Cycle’s Ironborn Women’s Motorcycle Textile Jacket comes with a new pioneering ventilation system that traps cold air whilst pushing out hot air. I’ll be able to ride safely on the hottest days of the year with this motorcycle jacket. That’s a huge plus here in Texas!
Pockets, Pockets, and More Pockets!
10 pockets!! Viking Cycles has added a quick-access mobile phone pocket, a hidden pocket, a knife, & sunglasses pocket on top of the regular pockets. I love having a place for everything!
Headphone System
I ride a Softail Deluxe which means I don’t have a radio built into my motorcycle. For several years I didn’t ride with an MP3 player. Then a few years back I started riding with one using a single earbud. Having some music while I ride has been great but where to put the player and routing the earbud has always been an issue. Not anymore! The Ironborn jacket has a dedicated headphone system. It allows you to push your headphones from the phone pocket through the collar and into your ears. Talk about convenient and comfort!
I do not receive any compensation if you choose to purchase a Viking jacket. I honestly like the gear and am extremely pleased with the quality of the material and the customer service Viking provides! If this isn’t your style don’t worry, Viking Cycles has gear for men and women a lot of different styles and fabrics. They even have rain gear, vest, and chaps !
