Last Sunday we took a ride with The Protectors LEMC. The destination was a favorite of Scott and myself, Loco Coyote! There were 11 bikes total, mostly members of the group. Scott had ridden with them before but this was my first time.
We met up at a gas station, filled up the tanks, met everyone and then went over some basics about the ride and parking. I was a bit nervous since this was a new group so I asked to Scott to make sure I was near him. The way it lined up I was in front of Scott which was fine. Being able to see him in front of me or in my mirrors is always reassuring.
Most of the ride there was on the highway but it was a beautiful day and there was still nice scenery to be seen. We pulled into the parking area, a term I use loosely since it is just dirt and grass and found a spot to park. We cleaned up a bit and headed off to take some pictures since the rest of the rest of the group had already secured some tables.
After looking over the menu Scott and I decided to share a plate. The portions are large and we have NEVER left hungry. As with most “biker” spots the atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendly. While we waited for our food and in between visiting I snuck off to grab some pictures.
The above plate got everyones attention when it was delivered to one of the men.
While we ate Scott mentioned to Charles that we would be taking the long way home along some back roads if anyone wanted to follow. Of course most everyone did. There a some great tight corners ( I don’t enjoy yet) and then some longer curvier stretches that I do enjoy, a lot! I never thought I would enjoy those but I now find myself excited when I get to lean into one. The roads Scott took are less traveled, have lots of farms and beautiful scenery to take in. It makes for a peaceful ride and wonderful end to the day.
