I bought A Harley 5 Years Ago Today!

My First Harley

I bought A Harley 5 Years Ago Today!  My Softail Deluxe and I have seen 14 states, traveled 38,334 miles together and have had an amazing time doing it. I’m so thankful that once I showed an interest in riding Scott taught me to ride! I’m looking forward to many more adventures.

Getting It Home

I was actually at work the day my motorcycle was brought home. Scott went to the dealership and picked it up, brought it home and set it up for me. (At this point I didn’t have a license yet so I couldn’t have ridden it home.) When I got home I was surprised to find my motorcycle ready to ride!

My First Ride

That first ride on it was terrifying and exciting. I had been riding an old KZ 1000 for a few months in a parking lot prior to taking the motorcycle safety course. Scott would ride the motorcycle to a closed parking lot, I would practice for a few hours and then he would ride it home.

During that time I was visiting our local dealership looking at Harley’s as often as I could. I spent about six months choosing the motorcycle I wanted. I decided on the Softail Deluxe and I have never regretted it! I’d go into more details but that’s for another time.

Places We’ve Been

Last week I added a new page to the website. Places We’ve Been. It’s a US map that allows you to choose a state we’ve ridden to and read about our adventures there.  I’m still working on updating it so be sure to check back often.

Thank you for coming along on the adventure with me!
